I auditioned for and was cast as Veronica Lodge on The CW’s teen drama series, Riverdale. It aired this past January. I can’t really put into words how much it means to me to play this iconic comic book character who is so well-known and loved by people all over the world. I made my debut portraying Veronica on episode 12 of season 1.

You were approached to be on this show when?

I was approached to be on this show when they were casting Archie’s love interest, Veronica. I auditioned with Madelaine Petsch and we went back and forth a lot on whether or not to take the role because it was so different from anything I had done before.

Can you tell us about the work you do on your show?

I am a very busy woman! I play Veronica Lodge on the show, which has been an absolutely amazing experience. Besides working on Riverdale, I’m also currently making my debut as an actress and singer on Broadway in Miss Saigon.

What did you know about Archie comics before being cast as your character?

I had never heard of Archie comics before I read for Veronica. I read four or five episodes and realized that it was so different from anything else on TV, and a great opportunity to get people excited about reading again.

You were born and raised in New York City – How do you find Los Angeles?

I find LA to be really amazing! I love that this city is full of so many new people and adventures waiting to happen. It’s a completely different place than NYC, but that doesn’t mean it’s not incredible.

Can you tell us something funny that happened during filming?

Our very first night of filming I had to shoot a murder scene for my character Veronica Lodge. My whole family was there and my mom was so nervous for me.
