Christopher Grantley Sommers was born in Ireland in 1979. He was raised in a small town outside of Dublin. When he was eighteen, he moved to Australia to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He studied acting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. After graduation, he worked steadily as an actor in theatre, film, and television. In 2010, he made the move to Los Angeles to further his career. He has been working on How I Met Your Mother as Barney Stinson’s brother James.
