Emma Raducanu, British professional tennis player and Olympic gold medalist, is renowned for her power game and court movement. Emma Raducanu’s family moved to London from Romania when she was just five years old. She started playing tennis at an early age on weekends with her dad, who introduced her to Wimbledon. Emma became serious about competing at 15, beating fellow British junior Gabriella Taylor (later eighth seed in 2017) before falling to eventual champion Naomi Broady.

Raducanu was born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England, to parents Paul and Audrey. Her mother played on a semi-professional level and introduced her to tennis at age seven.
