Skins and Game of Thrones star Hannah Murray (born Tegan Lauren Hannah Murray) attended a drama workshop at her boarding school, Rydal Penrhos, when she was 14. This led to her being cast in The Diary of Anne Frank. She did not go to university. Tegan’s grandmother, who she lived with until her death in 2012 at age 94, was a big influence on her life. She encouraged Tegan to pursue an acting career from a young age. However, it wasn’t until college that Tegan really started thinking about becoming an actress seriously. At Cambridge University, she performed at The Amateur Dramatic Club where she made friends who introduced her to everyone they knew who was involved in theatre.
