A tennis player of Italian origin, Martina Trevisan was born in Los Angeles on June 20, 1988. After moving to Italy at age 7, she began playing tennis seriously with her coach Carlo Pernat and has represented Italy since 2005. She made her debut as a professional in 2006 when she received an entry into a $10K tournament held in Palermo. She finished runner-up there losing to Yuliana Fedak 4–6, 6–1, 6–3.
