He began his career with SpVgg Unterhaching of the German second division in 2001 and made one appearance for the first team before transferring to Wacker Burghausen of the third division in 2003. Playing for Wacker Burghausen

Broich’s professional career began at Wacker Burghausen, where he played for the club’s reserves in the 2002–03 season. He was promoted to the first team in 2003 and made his debut on 15 February 2003 against Dynamo Dresden, coming on as a substitute for Michael Müller. He scored his first goal for the club in a 2-0 win over Eintracht Trier on 12 April 2003. He finished his debut season with 3 goals in 13 appearances.

Playing for Borussia Mönchengladbach

Broich made his first Bundesliga appearance on September 15, 2001, coming on as a substitute for Andreas Möller in the 87th minute of the game against VfL Bochum. On April 23, 2002, he scored his first Bundesliga goal against Bayer Leverkusen in the 82nd minute. This goal was significant because it helped Mönchengladbach avoid relegation to the 2. Bundesliga.

Playing for 1. FC Köln

Thomas Broich is a German former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. A SpVgg Unterhaching youth product, Broich went on to play for Wacker Burghausen, Borussia Mönchengladbach, 1. FC Köln, and 1. FC Nürnberg in Germany.

Post-Playing Career

In May 2017, he was appointed as the head coach for Brisbane Roar FC in Australia. In his playing career, he played as an attacking midfielder and wore the number 10 jersey.
