Lee Chan-hyuk (born August 9, 1992), better known by his stage name Akdong Musician and more commonly known by his stage name Suhyun, is a South Korean singer, rapper and guitarist. He is one half of duo Akdong Musician alongside his sister Lee Soohyun.
Family
He was born and raised in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea along with his older sister, Park Soo-youn. He attended Kyungnam High School and graduated from Dongguk University with a major in Musical Arts. Having an older sibling who is also an entertainer probably helped him prepare for his own debut. He and his sister share not only their talent but their love for music; he said that it helps them when they try to come up with new ideas or lyrics.

How long have you been involved in music? Do you play any other instruments? Tell us about your musical background. A: I’ve been playing piano since I was six years old. My father taught me how to play, and he still continues to teach me today. I also learned how to play guitar when I was in high school. It wasn’t until junior year that I started taking singing lessons, though, and they were really helpful because they helped me learn how to breathe properly while singing.

Is Lee Chan Hyuk in the military?
