Born in Queens, New York and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina, Lamar Joseph Odom played basketball at the University of Rhode Island before being drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers. He was traded to the Miami Heat in 1999, and then again to the Lakers in 2004. While playing for LA, he won two championships (2009 and 2010) and was named Sixth Man of the Year in 2011. But after a couple of disappointing seasons with LA, he returned to Miami for a season and then signed with Dallas.
