Ashley Victoria Abbott is a fictional character from The Young and the Restless and The Bold and Beautiful, two American soap operas on the CBS network. She has been most notably portrayed by Eileen Davidson, who originated Ashley Abbott – The Fictional Character That Keeps Us All Guessing
Anyone familiar with Ashley Abbott knows that she can be a hothead, irrational and as flamboyant as they come. It has been said that Ashley was her mother’s son in a woman’s body, but that doesn’t explain why people still root for her… Why? Because underneath all of Ashley’s vices lies a beautiful person. The reason we don’t get on Ashley’s case is because there are always many sides to every story; This side remains one of my favorites.
Bio
Ashley was portrayed by Eileen Davidson in her first appearance on June 11, 1982. Originally, Ashley had blonde hair and was a photographer; however, they changed her image to become a famous model. Ashley’s character became more popular as she dated other characters such as Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) and Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian). It was announced that Davidson would reprise her role of Ashley once again on April 29, 2011.
Family
Ashley was born in Genoa City, Wisconsin, to Dr. Tom Abbott and an unknown woman. She has one younger sister named Patti. Tom remarried when Ashley was very young to Eve Howard, who became Ashley’s stepmother.
Relationship
Ashley has had a number of romances over her forty years on both shows. Her first husband was Jeff Colby, but she’s perhaps most famously known for her relationships with Jack Abbott and Victor Newman. Ashley left Genoa City in 2003 with their adopted son, Noah, after Victor tricked her into believing he was dying from a brain tumor. She moved to Los Angeles and stayed there until 2007 when she returned to Genoa City after Victor suffered a heart attack and stroke.

Ashley began her career as a fashion model in New York. After a successful career, she met Phillip Chancellor II, whom she married shortly thereafter. Ashley was later named as CEO of Chancellor Industries after Phillip was presumed dead from an explosion on their yacht. She eventually inherited half of Chancellor Industries and ownership of Beauty Of Nature Cosmetics from her late mother.

Ashley has often said that Phillip was more of a father to her than her biological one had ever been. He always believed in her when she felt like no one else did. Later, he taught her how to forgive those who hurt you and move on with your life; two skills she would use many times throughout the years.
Teenage Years
Ashley Abbot was born on March 12, 1972 in Genoa City, Wisconsin. The daughter of prominent tycoon Victor Newman and his then-wife Drucilla Winters, Ashley was introduced to her world at just a few months old. When she was a young girl, her parents were divorced and she spent quite a bit of time with both Victor and Drucilla.
Coming of Age
Ashley’s first appearance on screen was in 1982, when she was introduced as Nikki Reed’s best friend. She would eventually marry Victor Newman, who at that time was engaged to Nikki. What ensued after Ashley and Victor divorced is one of soaps most loved and hated storylines. Ashley had some great highs, such as her career as a model for Jabot Cosmetics and her marriage to Brad Carlton.
Acting Career
Following her run on Y&R, Davidson was cast as Kristen Forrester on CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful. She played Kristen from 1993 to 1997, when she left to focus on other projects. In January 2004, Davidson returned to B&B in a role that had been recast twice; taking over for former stars Rena Sofer and Heather Tom. Davidson was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2012 and 2013 in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.
Relationships with Family Members and Friends
Though Ashley has been busy in life and hasn’t had time to spend with her daughter, Abby, in recent years, it was a different story when she was pregnant with her. As hard as she tries to be a good mother and make up for lost time, Abby is still very upset with her. In 2015, Ashley took over Jabot Cosmetics from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), something Abby wasn’t happy about.
Later Life
While Ashley’s struggles with alcoholism seem to have subsided in recent years, she is still involved in a love triangle involving her ex-husband and his new wife. When an apparently intoxicated Ashley was arrested for DUI in 2013, she told her fellow prisoners that there’s no one at home waiting for her—but we may soon learn who she’ll choose, if anyone.
