Net worth

$20 million. [1] Anthony Edward, who was born on June 10, 1962, is a famous American actor and director. He is best known for his role as Dr. Mark Greene in medical drama television series ER for which he has won Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

How he got started

His first big break was landing a regular role on Kids Incorporated, but despite his success, he was not immune to rejection. They told me I wasn’t any good and that my singing voice sucked, he said in an interview with People Magazine. I could care less about being famous or successful, but it got to a point where I just wanted them to like me. After six months, Anthony had had enough and quit. He then worked at a number of jobs including as a set dresser for TV shows such as Scarecrow and Mrs. King, China Beach and Sisters, followed by construction work in Malibu – which included a stint painting scenery at Disneyland – before returning to auditions.

Biggest fears before being cast

The big fear when you go on a show like ER, is that you’re going to spend six months of your life with people you don’t particularly like. That was not my experience on ER. I think everyone has a similar passion for what they do, but each one of us has different experiences. And I think we all came from different places, had different backgrounds. There were people that came from theater, there were people that had done some television work and hadn’t done anything before that, there were people who had done TV and film . . . so everyone brought something very unique to it.

Landing his breakthrough role

Anthony got his big break when he was cast in Oliver Stone’s Oscar-winning Vietnam war film Platoon. Shortly after, he appeared in a string of popular 80s movies, such as Top Gun and Revenge of the Nerds. After making several small roles on TV shows like Hill Street Blues and Miami Vice, he eventually landed on his first TV series regular role as Dr. Mark Greene on ER from 1994 to 2008. Anthony has won Golden Globe Awards for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama and Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, making him one of just four actors to win both awards multiple times (the others being Ed Asner, Michael J.

Turning down movie roles in order to stay with ER

One of his most famous moments was turning down a role in Jurassic Park to continue working on ER. I remember when Steven Spielberg called me up and said, ‘You wanna do Jurassic Park?’ and I said, ‘Steven, I have three words for you: Fox Mulder. For six years he’s been asking me to be on The X-Files—if I leave ER, they’re gonna replace me. So if you’ll write Mulder into Jurassic Park…’ Spielberg ended up writing a cameo that gave Mulder an excuse to fly out of Washington D.C., but having turned down Jurassic Park didn’t affect Edwards’ career—instead it meant he had less time for vacationing and filming roles outside of Dr. Mark Greene’s scrubs in Chicago.

Fame wasn’t expected

he had been taking acting classes at a Beverly Hills studio run by Milton Katselas, who was impressed enough to recommend him for a part in a TV movie, which led to his first film role in 1984. He played a badly behaved child in Permanent Record and landed a major role as Forrest Gump’s son in Tom Hanks’ blockbuster of the same name. This year, he has also finished filming an independent comedy called Bob We Have Ways Of Making You Laugh. He says he enjoys playing parts that are physically demanding because they bring out his inner 8-year-old. It’s always fun when you get to run around and hit people with sticks, scream real loud and jump off buildings.

Romance rumors
