After serving as guitarist for both Gnarls Barkley and Beck, he was recruited by Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis to replace John Frusciante in 2009. The move proved to be quite successful: that year, he featured on both I’m with You and The Getaway, two of RHCP’s most commercially successful albums. He has continued to tour with them ever since. His style is distinguished by his use of clean tones and incorporation of Jazz influence into modern rock music.
