Olena Volodymyrivna Zelenska is a Ukrainian screenwriter who is the First Lady of Ukraine as the wife of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In December 2019, Zelenska was included in the list of 100 most influential Ukrainians by Focus magazine, taking 30th place. The winner of numerous awards, including five international prizes for her movies and TV series projects, she has been involved with movie production from its very inception.
Olena has 3 siblings; Larysa, Dmytro and Alyona. She has a daughter from her first marriage (Olya). The family currently lives in Kiev but owns a house in Vyshhorod which is where President Volodymyr Zelenskyy grew up. It’s where he used to live with his parents and his two brothers, Mykhailo and Vasyl. Both of his brothers are also known for their political views.

Before marrying President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, she worked as a journalist and film critic. She had appeared in television series Maidan and is the creator of several television shows including The Government Inspector. After her graduation, she became a journalist for 1+1 TV channel and worked there for seven years. Later on, she was transferred to the main office of 1+1 Media Group. In 2010, Olena married popular Ukrainian comedian and showman Vladimir Zelenskyy.
Since 2002, she has been a co-owner of an advertising agency, a member of its board of directors and editor-in-chief. In 2007–2010, Zelenska was Editor-in-Chief at Channel 5. She also headed one of its creative teams and produced Face to Face (A face), program on TV channel Ukraine. Her company Yuziv Media produces various programs for Ukrainian channels such as Inter, 1+1 and Novyi Kanal.
In June 2013, Zelenska married businessman and politician Vitaliy Kovalchuk. In January 2019, their divorce was finalized. The couple have two children: a son Dovyd (born June 7, 2014) and a daughter Maksym (born March 31, 2016).
